08.51
The MinxLoft, Chiswick.

On this day, twenty years ago, Mother Edith flew from this world as I held her hand.
Wild dreams. My NightWorld tends towards the active and is often exciting.
Two exceptionally loud, long explosions c. 06.10 as thunderings preceded a downpour. Rising to a parched green…

… which hopefully will respond to a soaking.
12.40 Off for breakfast on the Chiswick High Road, to our local: Giraffe. Oh no!
It is becoming a Bill’s I…

II...

Relocating to the Cafe Rouge opposite…

Then shopping for tasty things to take for tea with our pals in Vauxhall this afternoon.
Back to the MinxLoft for e-flurrying. A request has come in for an interview…
I'm writing the authorised biography of Robert Wyatt, to be published next year by Serpent's Tail, and am keen to talk to Robert Fripp about his work with Robert's old band Matching Mole.
Might you be able to pass on the request, please - or if not, to point me in the right direction for an interview?
From the reply…
interviews are no longer in my job description.
but, even when they were, i consistently decline to comment on my work with a number of worthy subjects.
working creatively with people is intimate, both personal and impersonal; and usually provides insights into their lives.
discretion is reasonably presumed of those involved, which leaves platitudes and positive comments all that can be offered.
that is, none of what would be valuable and useful to you is available for me to provide.
this holds true for eno, bowie, gabriel, sylvian, blondie, wyatt et al.
so, respectfully, i decline your interview, while wishing you well with your project.
15.56 To Vauxhall…
22.06 … and pals Richard and John of AngelEye who visited us at home three weeks ago.

A very creative meeting, sharing insights and reflecting on where we are, places we have reached by following our choices and passions as younger people. This with fab sandwiches, cakes and prosecco. While the rich conversation and comments continued around me, I looked at a situation-of-interest and how it might be approached: it spoke back, directly. Earlier in my life, an experience like this would have set the next period in motion. Presently, choices generate rich repercussions and are to be nicely considered. But, good to know that creative insight remains available to enquiry.
On the first floor of the building next door, a small party was going on, visible from our position in the garden. A shout – It’s a boy! – perhaps ten minutes before the news was formally announced: the third in line to the crown is a boy. Clearly, the guests were in the family loop and partying up a storm.
Returning happily home after a fab evening, socially and creatively.
